Carlsbad
Historically a farming community, Carlsbad is now one of the 5th wealthiest communities in California and among the top 20 in the nation. Carlsbad has a village located on the coast as well as a large inland community made up of tract development and is widely known for its many luxury resorts including the Omni La Costa Resort and the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club, and Spa. On the coast, Carlsbad has a thriving surf break at Tamarack Beach as well as a boardwalk for running/walking and taking in an amazing sunset. Carlsbad is known for its parks and summer concert series that travel from one park to another over the course of the summer. Carlsbad is also a significant employment center to San Diego County with headquarters and offices from companies such as ViaSat, Thermo Fisher, TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, Callaway Golf, Hot Dog on a Stick, Jazzercise, and Jenny Craig.
Similar to Encinitas, Carlsbad is close to the beach and major transit avenues such as the I-5 freeway, the coaster station allowing easy travel south to the Mexico border and north to LA.
Why live here? Carlsbad is a beach community with some of the highest rated schools in the county. It is an employment center with housing options that range from original beach cottages to multi-million dollar estates to condos overlooking the golf course.
