Cardiff by the Sea
I think the name says it all. Immediately, when I hear the name Cardiff by the Sea, I can feel the light breeze blowing over my skin while the California sun warms my face. I can’t think of a place in California that feels more like a surfing village than Cardiff. The coastal streets near historical Hwy 101 and San Elijo Ave are flat and make for a great walkable district for organic shopping at Seaside Market (don’t forget the Cardiff Crack while you’re there), take in a local brew at The Confessional from Lost Abbey and Port Brewing, and watch a sculptural artist dress up the Cardiff Kook with the next great, photo-worthy spectacle. The steep incline sloping up to the east creates great ocean views from nearly all streets in Cardiff, so your time and home and your drives to and from the office will make for the best life you can live.
Why live here? First of all, you could be my neighbor. I have made Cardiff my home since 2009 and can’t imagine wanting to leave- my neighbors are the best, and the views are amazing. Second, the beaches alone are a great reason to call Encinitas home, but you also have award winning schools, close proximity to the large employment centers of Carlsbad, Del Mar/Carmel Valley, Torrey Pines, and San Diego, a local coaster station to take you south to the Mexico border or north to LA, and a community that offers everything you could need from big box stores to local mom-and-pop shops.
